29/06/2018 - Fino al 4 Novembre il MAXXI di Roma ospiterà African Metropolis. Una Città Immaginaria una grande mostra dedicata al continente africano. Il progetto, realizzato in collaborazione con il Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, presenta i lavori di 34 artisti che riflettono sulle grandi trasformazioni sociali e culturali in atto.

Attraverso cinque capitoli la mostra presenta la struttura complessa di una metropoli in cui lo spazio urbano è visto come luogo di incontro di esperienze diverse e dove tradizione e contemporaneità dialogano. La mostra prevede anche un progetto di committenza con la produzione di nuove opere e progetti site specific.

Amin, El Anatsui, Joël Andrianomearisoa, Abdulrazaq Awofeso, Sammy Baloji, Bili Bidjocka, Mimi Cherono Ng’ok, Godfried Donkor, Franck Abd-Bakar Fanny, Meschac Gaba, Lucas Gabriel, François-Xavier Gbré, Simon Gush, Hassan Hajjaj, Nicholas Hlobo, Délio Jasse, Samson Kambalu, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Abdoulaye Konaté, Lamine Badian Kouyaté (Xuly.Bët), Youssef Limoud, Onyis Martin, Lavar Munroe, Hassan Musa, Paul Onditi, PEFURA, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Antoine Tempé, Andrew Tshabangu, Sarah Waiswa, Ouattara Watts, James Webb, Amina Zoubir.
